Control Quality is a critical process in project quality management. The Control Quality process plays a crucial role in determining if the project outputs perform their intended functions. The effort required to control quality and the extent of its implementation can vary between industries and project management styles. Industries such as pharmaceutical, health, transportation, and nuclear may have stricter quality control procedures compared to other industries. The effort required to meet quality standards in these industries can be extensive.

In agile projects, Control Quality activities may be performed by all team members throughout the project life cycle. This approach ensures continuous quality control and allows for immediate adjustments as needed.

In contrast, in projects based on the waterfall model, quality control activities are performed at specific times, usually toward the end of the project or phase. In these projects, specified team members are responsible for performing quality control activities. This approach ensures that all project outputs meet the required quality standards before they are delivered to the customer.
